This time I should to [delete]read paragraph9-15, in [delete]paragraph9 to 14 is analysis [analysizing]some different kinds of advertising claims.
First, in paragraph 9 the author talks about “the weasel claims”. In this paragraph, I think the word 'weasel' is interesting. It means 'a small mammal with reddish brown fur and a long body which can kill other small animals such as mice and birds for food'. But in [delete]here it has anthers [other]means. It meaning [means]'Speech which is described as weasel words is [or]speech intentionally used either to avoid answering a question clearly or to make someone believe something that is not true. If the consumer [does]not read its advertising claims carefully. [,]They will be deceived.
In paragraph10, the author is talk [talking]about 'the water is wet claim'. This kind of advertising claim says something about the product that is true for any brand in that product category. When you first listen [to]the claim, you will think the product is very good. But if you think it carefully you will find many products all is [have]this condition.哈
In paragraph11, the author is talk [talking]about this kind of advertising claim-'the so what claim'. This kind of advertising claim say something what [that]is true but not special. And in this paragraph, the word 'react' confused me. I know the word 'act' is meaning [meant by]'to do something for a particular purpose, or to behave in the stated way. So I think the word 'react' maybe means 'to act in a particular way as a direct pursuit of something else.哈
Then in paragraph12, the author talk [talks]about the scientific or statistical claim. This claim uses some specific number[numbers], or a mystery ingredient that sounds impressive. Let consumer think the produce [product]is better than other. The fact is not sure.
In paragraph 13, the kind of advertising claim is only one way-flatters the consumer. It catches consumer's vanity. And in the advertising claim, they don't use some falsehoods.
Now we talk about last kind of advertising claim, this is the rhetorical question. This kind of advertising claim also doesn't use some falsehoods. This technique demands a response from the audience, then let consumer to [delete]affirm the product's goodness by themselves.
The last paragraph of this article is a summary of the advertising claim. The author said [says]whether you realize it or not, you are persuaded by advertisers to buy certain product. But this article let me know how to discriminate the advertising claim. What [which kind of]words in the advertising claim is [are]true, and what is [which are]not.
