航空机关炮简称航炮，是飞机或直升机上使用的口径等于或大于20毫米的自动射击武器。能自动连续地完成开膛、抽壳、抛壳、进弹、锁膛和击发等射击循环动作。口径多为20-30毫米，有效射程通常为2000米。
航炮具有结构紧凑、重量轻、操作简便迅速等特点。空空导弹出现后，航炮仍是近距离格斗不可缺少的武器，其发展重点是减轻重量，提高初速和射速，弹药力求通用性，提高爆破力和穿甲效能。
